Our AI features run on Groq (cloud) with a local HuggingFace fallback. Document text is sent for analysis, never the file itself, and never used for training.
How it started
PDFOrca started when Shahrukh, an independent developer based in India, got tired of the same pattern on every PDF website: two free conversions, then a paywall — or worse, bloated output designed to push you toward a premium plan.
So he built his own set of tools. Then added a Hindi interface because millions of Indian users were underserved by English-only platforms. Then came AI-powered summarization after students kept asking for a faster way to digest research papers. Today PDFOrca offers 21 tools covering everything from merging and splitting to OCR and watermarking.
PDFOrca is a one-person operation. Shahrukh handles the code, the content, and every support email personally. There is no venture funding, no marketing team, and no investor dashboard — just a developer who believes PDF tools should be free, fast, and honest about how they handle your files.

Shahrukh is a self-taught developer based in India who builds web tools that solve real, everyday problems. He created PDFOrca to give people a free, no-nonsense alternative to the overpriced PDF software that dominates the market. He writes every line of code, every blog post, and answers every support email himself.
Built with modern technology
PDFOrca runs on Next.js for the frontend and Python for file processing. Every upload is handled over an encrypted HTTPS connection, processed in temporary server memory, and automatically deleted within one hour. The AI features use Groq's inference API with a HuggingFace fallback — document text is sent for analysis, never the raw file, and nothing is used for model training. The platform supports both English and Hindi with full right-to-left text handling where needed.
